Artist Statement
Hillside not only has a great caliber of musicians but such a beautiful community and fanbase. For the 2023 poster, I wanted to point the lens toward them, because the community is what makes this festival so very special. I chose to specifically illustrate one magical moment that comes with great live music – the bond between a musician and their audience. This year’s artwork shows the power music has to build peace, community and unity among us while sharing the beautiful faces of friendly folks swaying back and forth as they listen on a warm summer evening in late July.
Happy Hillside!
