TORRANCE is a new alt-rock project based just north of Toronto, fronted by Tamara Williamson, a powerhouse songwriter and artist with a rich history in the music industry. Tamara has collaborated with renowned bands like King Cobb Steelie, Rheostatics, and Do Make Say Think. In the 90s, her band MRS. TORRANCE toured North America multiple times and opened for Oasis.
In 2000, Tamara launched a solo career, spending much of her time touring in France with artists like Shannon Wright and Feist, while releasing six solo albums. Alongside her music career, she is also a published author and the creator of the one-woman show The Break-Up Diet, which performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024.
Tamara has spent over two decades collaborating with producer Mitch Girio (of King Apparatus), and now, with her new project TORRANCE, she’s joined by Antony Cook (drummer for KonKan) and Cassie Jones (vocalist/keyboardist). Together, they create powerful, electrifying sounds that showcase their collective experience and musical chemistry. TORRANCE brings high energy and harmonies to the alt-rock scene and is set to leave an impression wherever they perform.
