Rollicking roots rock, vintage-style pop ballads, blue-eyed soul — Steven Taetz approaches it all without flinching, delivering songs with a strong and crystal clear voice that demands the listener’s full attention. His previous live performances include National Arts Centre, Capital Pride Washington D.C., Rochester International Jazz Festival, Rockwood Music Hall NYC, L’Astral Theatre Montreal, Calgary Folk Festival’s Block Heater, Ottawa Bluesfest mainstage prior to Robert Plant & Allison Krauss, and most recently opening for a sold out show with Blue Rodeo at Drumheller’s Badlands Amphitheatre. Having previously collaborated with Jill Barber, Jenn Grant, Caroline Marie Brooks of Good Lovelies, The Once, and Connie Kaldor, he has also co-published songs with Sony/BMG, Warner, Nettwerk, and Universal Music. His 2023 contemporary roots-rock album Late Bloom was nominated for Best Emerging Artist (Canadian Folk Music Awards) and Album of the Year (Folk Music Ontario). His 2024 holiday album My Christmas Wish blends motown, roots, and early rock, including festive favourites alongside his own new exciting additions to the Christmas songbook.
