Halley McKeown

Sunday, July 24, 11:50 AM, Main Stage

Halley McKeown is a singer/songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. Joining the Canadian Children’s Opera Company at just four years old, Halley participated in multiple singing competitions and training programs (such as the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival and The Musical Stage Company’s One Song Glory) throughout her childhood. At thirteen, Halley took up guitar and began writing her own songs. Halley’s passion for music led her to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Music, specializing in vocals and guitar. Inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell and Dallas Green (City and Colour), Halley’s indie folk sounds blends layered harmonies with powerful lyrics about heartache, love, and loss. In 2021, Halley participated in Hillside Inside’s “Girls and Guitars” songwriting workshop, where she had the opportunity to sing at Hillside’s virtual festival. This year, Halley will be performing songs from her debut EP, “In Another Life” at Guelph’s Hillside Festival. After three years in the making, Halley is thrilled to share her music, and see where the future will take her.
