For ages 5-9. Get up and moving with Dave from Driftwood Theatre, and stretch out your imagination to make cool characters!
Deivan (Dave) Steele is a South African-Canadian jack of all trades: he acts, directs, writes, creates, educates, plays music, and composes for the theatre. He’s worked with theatres in Tkaronto, his native K’jipuktuk, and abroad like Driftwood Theatre, Shakespeare in Action, Bad Hats, Shakespeare by the Sea, Unwrap Theatre, DaPoPo Theatre, and Prague Shakespeare Co.
Driftwood Theatre breaks down barriers to experiencing and participating in theatre art by bringing theatre and engagement opportunities to audiences in Ontario who may not have access to professional performance. The group is Ontario’s leading outdoor summer touring theatre company, on the road with The Bard’s Bus Tour visiting Ontario communities since 1995.
Since 1995, the company has performed for over 100,000 people in venues across the province. City parks, campus fields, schools, heritage museums, castles, private estates and even a parking lot have, at one time or another, been home to a Driftwood performance. Trafalgar 24, Driftwood’s annual 24-hour, site-specific theatre creation event began in 2004, and has fostered the creation of over 100 short plays set in the beautiful Trafalgar Castle School in Whitby, Ontario.
