Champa is an Indo-Canadian emcee and spoken word poet based in Southern Ontario. Known for his sharp metaphors, vivid imagery, and discreet word play, Champa has placed in poetry slams across Canada and has shared stages with performers like Zaki Ibrahim, C.R. Avery, and Dwayne Morgan. As an emcee, Champa is inspired by 90s Boom Bap and the underground hip-hop movements of the early 2000s. His debut album “Always. If Ever. After.” received critical recognition and charted nationally on Earshot’s College Radio Charts. Through national and international performances, Champa has proven that there is no crowd he cannot captivate with his energetic spoken word and hip-hop performance. He is currently working on his OAC-funded sophomore album “Hands in My Pockets”.
