John Leacock is a Hillside Board member who first attended the summer festival in 1994 as a food vendor, selling his own Caribbean dishes. He was a member of the Hillside Board from 1998-2000 and again from 2004-2007. He is a founding member of the Guelph Black Heritage Society, and has been a member of the Downtown Guelph Renewal Committee and the Guelph and District Association of Realtors.
