Montreal’s Ballsy—the solo venture of Caveboy’s Isabelle Banos—is a nostalgic and energetic blend of indie rock and dreampop. After her participation in the 2020 “Women in the Studio” program, Ballsy opened her own studio in Montreal, Chez Ballsy, an inclusive space welcoming all artists to create as themselves. It’s here where her solo project was born and her debut EP “Bisou” (April 5th 2024) was created, featuring crispy guitars, warm analog synths, and in-your-face emotion. Since its release, Ballsy has toured her record across Canada (JUNOfest, NXNE, Spring Reverb, Tiny Lights, Pop Montreal), Japan (Music Bridge Tokyo) and the UK (FOCUS Wales). Her work in the studio has led her to be recognized as an Innovator by Keychange, a global initiative devoted to advocating for more gender equality in the music industry. As a proud EarthPercent artist, Ballsy shares a portion of her royalties with “the planet”. When Ballsy isn’t nerd-ing out about music you can find her making DIY escape rooms for friends or hanging out with her rescue dog Bruce.
