Michael Barclay is the author of the 2018 national bestseller The Never-Ending Present: The Story of Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip. His new book, Hearts on Fire: Six Years That Changed Canadian Music, is about many artists he introduced on stage at Hillside as a longtime MC. He was in the band Black Cabbage and wrote a CD review column for the Waterloo Region Record for almost 20 years.
