In the winter of 2022-2023, Hillside presented a course on co-songwriting with veteran award-songwriter Katherine Wheatley. The students were tasked with writing an anthem to Hillside and its legacy of community and peacebuilding. This was followed by a second course on harmony singing and creating harmonic arrangements with singer and songwriter Jane Lewis, with a specific objective of creating an arrangement for the original song from the first course. The result? “One More Song”, which premiered at Hillside Inside in February 2023, performed by Katherine Wheatley, Jane Lewis, and the participants of the two courses.
At Hillside 2023, we will be performing “One More Song” in celebration of Hillside’s 40th year, and presenting the opportunity to learn the parts and participate in the performance yourself! Come and sing with us!
