Brent Hagerman teaches in the Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he guides students through the popular musical past that has inspired social chance, but also reproduced racist and sexist norms. His most recent book is a critical biography of controversial Jamaican dancehall artist King Yellowman. As a musician, Brent has released two albums with a reggae-inspired band, The Baudelaires, and currently performs renegade acoustic boogie with Passive Resistors.
