Born in Calgary and based in Haida Gwaii, poet, speaker, songwriter, illustrator and producer Kinnie Starr’s decades-long career has taken her around the world – but she is first and foremost an artist and activist. Her current work continues to touch on issues of race, home, family and humanity, while her sound straddles the lines between folk, rap, art pop and poetry. Her ninth full-length album is scheduled for 2023.
