Adrian “X” Eccleston is a writer, producer, seasoned live guitarist, and studio musician. Adrian’s successful track record of collaborations make him one of the most sought-after musicians by artists such as Grammy winners, Drake and Kylie Minogue. Adrian first joined Drake during the recording sessions of his multi-platinum success, Thank Me Later (2010). He was immediately invited to join Drake on tour as live guitarist, contributing to the success of Away From Home (2010), Lightdreams & Nightmares (2011) and Club Paradise (2012) tours. From there, Adrian continued on as Musical Director and studio collaborator for Drake’s album, Take Care, which won Best Rap Album at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Adrian has toured on every continent, both as live guitarist and musical director. In 2009, prior to touring with Drake, Adrian completed a highly acclaimed 75+ date North American tour with Grammy-award-winning artist, Kylie Minogue. As Kylie’s prized live guitarist, he’s played on her worldwide tours, which set attendance records in the UK.

Adrian has also played live with such talent as Leona Lewis, Serena Ryder, The Weeknd, Nelly Furtado, Esthero, and Maestro Fresh Wes. Some of his most memorable performances include playing the 100,000+ sold-out – 2004 Glastonbury music festival; performing alongside Drake with featured artists such as Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, Eminem, Florence Welch and Justin Timberlake; opening up for Prince and Bryan Adams; playing with Grammy-award-winner Randy Crawford in Harare, Zimbabwe; and performing for such notables as Stevie Wonder, former US President Bill Clinton, Jack Nicholson, King Abdullah of the UA Emirates, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Edson “Pelé” Arantes do Nascimento and former Canadian Prime Minister, Jean Chretien.

Some of Adrian X’s North American Prime Time appearances include Fox’s hit reality series, The Casino, Jimmy Kimmel Show, Ellen, Tyra Banks Show, multiple episodes of The Late Show with David Letterman, multiple episodes of Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show, Canadian Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, One Life to Live, the 2006 finale of Saturday Night Live as well as the Halloween edition of Saturday Night Live with Drake (2011).
Adrian has also been featured in, and performed at various award shows including the Canadian Juno Awards, the American Music Awards, the World Music Awards, The BET Awards, and MTV Award shows around the world. Adrian has been writing and producing music for over a decade. His latest work includes contributing guitar and production on Grammy-award-winning records by Drake (2010, 2011), critically acclaimed albums by Hill & The Sky Heroes (2011) and The Weeknd (2011, 2012). Adrian was awarded Platinum plaques for both Drake and Nelly Furtado albums, which reached sales totaling over 10,000,000. He is part of the Grammy-award-winning cast of talented writers and producers who worked on Take Care (2011), which won best Rap Album at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

This year, Adrian adds solo recording artist to his growing list of professional achievements, with the release of his debut album Soulgazer, which is best described as an exploration into space or a personal journey in which listeners will create as they take in his guitar playing and production stylings. Released under his own production label, Ecclectic Electrix (www.musicisageless.com), and distributed by Universal Music Canada, the album demonstrates his wide palette of styles and influences that can go from rock, jazz and soul, to reggae, hip hop and the blues. His work in the industry has earned him generous support from top brands such as Gibson, Dean Markley, Seymour Duncan, Ableton Live, Moog, Dunlop, Monster Power, Keith McMillen Instruments, Levy Leather’s, T-Rex pedals, Electro Harmonix, and recognition from the amplifier makers Mesa/Boogie, on whose site Adrian is a flagship artist. In his down time, Toronto-based Adrian continues to work on various solo projects.
