Hillside Inside 2016

January 29 - 31

The Strumbellas

The Strumbellas

Juno nominated band The Strumbellas from Lindsay, Ontario, headed to the woods of the Pacific Northwest to record their sophomore album, We Still Move On Dance Floors. Recording at Bear Creek Studio just outside of Seattle, WA, with Grammy nominated producer, Ryan Hadlock, was a natural progression for the band, whose dark lyrics about death and solitude crop up amongst beautiful lyrical mindscapes of trees and lakes and wanderlust.  Editor's choice for CBC Radio3's song of the summer with their lead off single, In This Life, proof is in the pudding with quotes like "…poised for much attention" (Exclaim.ca), "…the vanguard of something new and good and positively 21st century" (The National Post) and "their sound blew my mind.  They perform a beautiful combination of bluegrass lyrics, indie-rock beats and just enough country" (vancouverweekly.com) singing the praises of The Strumbellas' new album and live show.
